Estefania Vaz Ferreira

María Estefanía Vaz Ferreira was born in Uruguay where she lived most of her life.  Theatre and literature were her first and unforgettable love, but since age 17 dancing has been her unyielding passion.  Her main focus were bellydance, modern and ballet, which she studied in the Escuela Superior de Danza Oriental Sahar Iasmín and in the Primera Escuela de Danza Moderna del Uruguay respectively.

María taught Level I group and private dance classes before moving to the US, and has performed in Uruguay, DC and NYC, where she currently works as a Spanish interpreter and translator.  She continues to train in Bellydance, Modern, Ballet, Jazz and Yoga. She studies Cabaret, ATS and Fusion Bellydance under Kaeshi Chai and Bellyqueen and is a proud member of PURE and the Rising Sirens.
